Old Business
Discussion centered on this past weekends stamp show held at the Comfort Inn in Prospect Heights. Attendance was steady on Saturday, and Sunday saw a fair number of folks bringing in stamp collections for appraisal, in response to an offer of $25 to do so. It was observed that there was one collection that was charged the $25, because of its value. Nearly all the collections were from relatives that had passed away, and handed down to family members. Most were common stamps that held little interest or value to the dealers at the show. One collection had some very nice stamps, but had been stored in a damp basement, and was now virtually worthless. This is a good lesson on properly storing and caring for collections.
